The single greatest decision we made in building our new home was choosing our builder. Bezooyen Contracting is a quality, professional builder. Having them in charge of our building process was terrific. From our first meeting with Gerrit, we knew he was an honest, easy-going, even tempered, good natured person. It is amazing how important those qualities are when working with someone on a home. Gerrit always made time to explain the process, listen to our ideas or concerns and give advice when it was needed. Not once did we feel left out or ignored. When changes needed to be made, we were always consulted and given the opportunity to make decisions.
In the design process, we were given a timeline and had ample time to make choices. We knew we had support if we needed help making those choices.
The contract was simple and straightforward. The quote was a helpful tool for budgeting. Transactions between the bank and Bezooyen were handled easily and professionally. We received receipts and expense summaries which allowed us to monitor the financial aspects. Gord was extremely patient in helping me to make sense of some reports.
We really appreciated Bezooyen’s “cost-plus” approach. While many builders have a price per square foot from which you are then allowed to spend so many dollars per foot on floor coverings, lighting, etc. Bezooyen’s straightforward approach allowed us to spend extra money where it was important to us. We feel you get what you pay for and this way you pay for what you want.

Building a home with Gerrit Bezooyen, owner of Bezooyen Contracting, was a great experience! We know that not many people can say that about their building experiences with other building companies, but in our case it is absolutely true.
Gerrit and his Office Manager/Designer, Gord, were incredible to work with. They were always available when we had questions or concerns during the building process. Gerrit was always a phone call away and was frequently on site to ensure that things were being done to his standards and specifications. Gord helped us orchestrate the inside finishings, including tile, granite, carpet, light fixtures, paint colours, and cupboards in a way which Gerard and I would not have been able to. He truly has an eye for design and colour! A Bezooyen Contracting home is distinguishable from the outside as well - the Craftman style and hardi-plank siding makes it esthetically pleasing and unique from the other homes on the street. No detail was ordinary or left unattended.
Once our home was ready to move into, Geritt was still very much involved. He appeared at our door more than once to make sure that “everything was all right”. As well, Gord e-mailed us every three months for the first year to see if anything needed attending to. This was something that really impressed us!
We truly love our home and have no plans to ever move. But if we ever decide to, we wouldn’t choose to build with anyone other than Bezooyen Contracting! Dr.’s Angie and Gerard Dower
We chose Bezooyen Contracting to build our house after meeting several quality builders in the Lethbridge market. We had an exceptional experience building our home with Bezooyen Contracting. The company’s personable and efficient service was a definite asset. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we were regularly assisted throughout the phases of the building process. The home’s exterior and interior finishes display the builder’s attention to detail, in addition to quality craftsmanship. Many of these details are standard to Bezooyen; whereas we were expecting them to be classified as “upgrades.” We take pride that our home is different than any other in our neighborhood.
